KSA Preparation Don'ts

by fred 24. August 2010

While these things can help you get an interview, having certain things in your KSA statements will ruin your chances of getting an interview.

· Don't copy sentences directly from the position description.
· Don't list what others have done, or achievements of a previous company
. Don't lie or exaggerate your information.
· Don't be too modest.
· Don't leave out social work that you do.
· Don't only mention the certifications you have. Give detailed information.
· Don't include data they are not asking for.

Keep in mind that your KSA satements are going to be used to figure out whether or not you are qualified to do the job. Be sure you keep them focused on the vacancy you are applying to, and don't ever offer too much or too little info. By following these simple guidelines, you will increase your chances of getting an interview.
